Cher borrows Cheryl Cole's style in revealing lingerie-style dress at London Burlesque premiere

By Daily Mail Reporter

Revealing: Cher shows off her impressive figure in a black and nude Julien McDonald Autumn/Winter 2010 'mullet' lace gown at the London premiere of Burlesque

She's a music legend with five decades in the entertainment world and an Oscar to her name.

But tonight superstar Cher appeared to have unwittingly borrowed the red carpet style of Cheryl Cole at the London premiere of her film Burlesque.

The 64-year-old showed off her impressive figure in a revealing Julien McDonald nude and black lace gown and towering heels, which she teamed with a bright red wig.

Her risque dress, which has also been seen on WAG Alex Gerrard and socialite Tamara Ecclestone, made sure Cher outshone her younger co-stars Christina Aguilera and Kristen Bell on the red carpet.

Although it's highly unlikely Cher has ever heard of the three women who have worn the dress before, the nude variation of the gown was first seen on Cheryl at the Glamour magazine Women Of The Year Awards in early June.

A few weeks later, Mrs Gerrard wore a nude and pink version - with a pink train instead of a black one like Cher - to Sir Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball.

The following month, it was then worn by Bernie Ecclestone's brunette daughter Tamara to a charity Formula 1 party.

Meanwhile, while Cher was flaunting her figure in her raunchy ensemble, Aguilera went for a more traditional red carpet look in a low-cut black dress with ruched waistline, a fur stole and Christian Louboutin heels.

She was joined by her on-screen nemesis Kristen Bell - who plays the villainous Nikki opposite Aguilera's naive ingenue Ali - who looked sleek in a white floral shift dress.

The pair were also joined by handsome co-star Cam Gigandet - who plays Ali's love interest Jack - and director Steve Antin.

Many of the premiere's guests had clearly embraced the burlesque-theme with singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding wearing a tuxedo jacket and shirt with a pair of tights with mock stocking effect.

Former Playboy pin-up Kayla Collins was capitalising on her newfound fame in Britain thanks to I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! as she arrived in a skin-tight black and nude lace dress.

Also in attendance were actress Abi Titmuss, singer Paloma Faith, X Factor choreographer Brian Freidman, Bianca Gascoigne and Big Brother star Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace.

After the film was mauled by critics, the movie's stars have been throwing themselves into the publicity campaign, attending junkets and premieres across Europe and North America.

Empire magazine critic Helen O'Hara hailed the script as 'pretty awful', describing the film as 'intentionally or not, it might be the comedy of the year'.

Total Film's Jane Crowther also embraced the comedic elements of Burlesque, despite its 'threadbare' plot.

She wrote: 'Like the love-child of Coyote Ugly and Showgirls - and led astray by Chicago - Burlesque is an unashamed theatrical artifice proudly wearing its camp heart on its sequinned sleeve.'

The New York Times' Manohla Dargis said: 'Ms Aguilera doesn’t have much time to embarrass herself. She’s a serviceable screen presence who has a voice and an occasional song big enough to keep her from sliding off screen.

'It’s a dutiful, stolid performance in a movie that quickly proves achingly dull...'

That's entertainment: The crowd watched a performance by a troupe of burlesque dancers as they waited in the cold for Aguilera and Cher to arrive
